Very interesting, I never thought about it from this point of view. IMHO one other point is the cost differences. In order to compete with a traditional story telling, e.g. books and newspapers, one would just need a good CMS software as well as pretty CSS and images. For the online video you need an army of designers, make up artists, camera people, etc. in order to make something even comparable to TV productions. Not many people have those resources.

I love this post. Except I think I like weddings more than marriages, but to each her own, eh?

Love you and your style, mama.

About observation #3: I feel exactly the same way when I go Iranian grocery shopping with my, uh, significant other. Glad to know I'm not the only one.

Congratulations!

Dear Sepideh,
The labels that are put upon us! We internalize their oppressions so deeply, for too long.

There is no path, or the path is one step at a time: to be centered, clear and integral

i used to tell my children —when they said: I am half Jewish and half Armenian— I told them: You are not half of anything, you are a complete human being.

Be kind to yourself, accept the contradictions in you, and forgive yourself a thousand times every day. And forgive me for barging on you unexpectedly.
With love,
Esther

Well, trying out what you like to do and a possible rejection in your way, may lead you to other good prospective in life! You will eventfully find what is good for you. Just keep positive attitudes and never give up. :)

nice. your snark is spot-on...I think her trouble started when people began calling her "Peggy."

If you want to read a real memoir from a white person in poverty, try All Souls by Michael Patrick MacDonald. We saw him read at Rocky's monday. Not a literary masterpiece, but compelling (and not published by a big house).
